Romans 12:21

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Romans 12:21 NIV

When you look at Romans 12:21 in context, the section talks a lot about loving our enemy. There are a few things which we should do our best to avoid. We are taught to avoid cursing people and are instead called to bless them. In times that feel unjust, we should avoid seeking our own revenge. Romans 12 teaches us to never repay evil with evil.

Instead God calls us to love our enemy. Verse 21 teaches us that we can overcome evil with good. By loving our enemies we are leaving the justice to God. We are also demonstrating Godly love and how to walk as a Christian at the same time.
